The company was founded on February 22, 1961, with the core activity of maintenance, reconstruction and construction of public roads, bridges, culverts and other buildings facilitating the use of public roads. At the end of 1974, by merging with the “Beograd” Road Company, it became its Main road maintenance and reconstruction organization. In 1985, basic joint work organization “Valjevo” and basic joint work organization “Putogradnja” from Valjevo formed basic joint work organization for roads “Valjevo” within the “Beograd” Road Company.

At the beginning of 1990, it became independent and had been operating since then under the name Predužeće za puteve “Valjevo” sa p.o. Valjevo, until June 16, 2005, when it was privatized at an auction sale. Since then, it has been operating as the Preduzeće za puteve “Valjevo” a.d. Valjevo. From August 05, 2005, it has been operating as a joint stock company.
